Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has born? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
We have homes located in different parts of Lima. There is one in Magdalena, Pachacutec (Ventanilla), and Cieneguilla.
Our homes are designed following a family structure; therefore, they have a maximum capacity of 12 children per home, so there can be less than, but never more than 12 children. They are under the care of a mother, and are supported by a team of women who have sensed a call and have a passion for children. The children come to us through the government's child welfare system or through the family court system or relatives.
We are a Peruvian-Swiss non-profit association that offers a home to abandoned babies and children who are neglected or at risk, and offers care, warm meals, and the gospel to children and elderly adults living in poverty.
We invite volunteers to come for at least a year through the Global Volunteer Services or Privately. Our volunteer program provides a wide range of experience that is incredibly rewarding.
We invite you to sponsor one of our children or become a friend of El Refugio!
News from Pachacutec:
After 14 years of waiting and praying and presenting papers, we got water and were connected to the sewage waste water system of the city!!!! An incredible victory!!! Praise God!!!
